What We Do

Audio Wave Divider

AMS is a music and message on-hold provider. We specialize in veterinary practice service. The American Animal Hospital Association recommends personalized messages for
Veterinary Practices’ on-hold telephone system.

Why It Works

When incoming callers hear your staff personally, they are more receptive – especially in your most captive environment – your telephone system, listening intently for their call to be picked up.  Remember – they called you – they’re already interested in what you have to offer.

What separates us from our competition’s ‘canned production with hi-power announcer’ approach is that we include the doctors, technicians, and other office personnel to voice the messages-on-hold personally.  And, all of this happens with a simple phone call appointment to your office!

This enables your practice to personally communicate with all incoming callers, and educate them about developments in veterinary medicine, seasonal maintenance issues for family member pets, new technology, added staff members, or other information.

Some Interesting Stats...

  • Over 80% of all business calls made in the U.S. are put on hold.
  • 60% of callers to a business who hear silence will hang up before the call is picked up.
  • 88% of callers to prefer personalized on-hold messages and will listen to the content of the message.
  • 14% to 20% of callers make purchases based on information obtained while listening to messages.
  • 94% of a typical business’s marketing and advertising budget is spent on trying to convince a potential client to call the business, yet only 6% is spent on first impression communication once the call is answered. The client calls, and then typically hangs up!
  • The average on-hold time for callers to a business with 2 or more line phone system is 35 seconds.
  • Callers to a business offering information on-hold will listen for up to 3 minutes.

How It Can Be Used

  • Soft sell your best market – the people who called you!
  • Build your practice image – Let your staff communicate directly with your callers!
  • Increase customer service – Give helpful pet care tips to callers while they’re waiting.
  • Promote your practice & services – Provide FAQ info, locations, hours, product sales, or payment policies.
  • Keep people listening – Reduce loss of callers and loss of client confidence – when you talk, they listen longer.
  • Eliminate competing advertising – Remove the radio and your caller will never hear a competitor’s ad.

Audio Media Services is Based in Oregon's Beautiful Willamette Valley

Audio Media Services opened as Wake Robin Recording & Sound in May/1985, in an old metal building on the south edge of Corvallis. Word got out that there was a good pair of ears in the area, and the music community, media outlets, ad agencies, and marketing reps took notice. This modest facility expanded from a small studio to a multi-room facility with analog and digital equipment in just a few years.

Enter the 1990’s, when our industry embraced low-budget/at-home recording. The studio business model rapidly changed, and the rules of survival were laid out. A relocation plan and my dream of having my own studio/property was realized in 2005. The new facility has superb acoustics, microphone enhancing tracking rooms, 3 sets of monitors in the control room, and a new digital hardware/software update.

A Short Version of a Long Story

I was born into a musical family. My father was the great jazz pianist, Jimmy Rowles, and my childhood was filled with access to famous musical personalities who deeply imprinted my destiny. It was a non-typical home filled with lots of love, tons of humor, and a very unique perspective on life!

I started playing guitar professionally at age 16, and began studio work 2 years later. For the next 20 years I worked in Los Angeles as a studio musician, assistant engineer, producer, touring musician, songwriter, arranger, publisher and consultant, and have been deeply involved in most areas of the music business from the ground up. In 1981, I relocated to Oregon to raise a family in the beautiful Willamette Valley.

I’m constantly looking to build relationships, update my toolkit and methodology, and I’m always eager to engage another paradigm shift in the direction of effectiveness. If I can be of help, please let me know.
Carpe Diem!
